VicAVP (Anti-Violence Project of Victoria Inc.)

The Anti-Violence Project of Victoria Inc. (VicAVP) is the peak LGBTi community organisation in Victoria leading discussion on violence and its impacts within and against the community state-wide. In addition to LGBT people, we support intersex individuals who identify with the sexuality and gender diverse community. Many great projects underway include:- Family violence, street harassment and prejudice motivated violence and crime reporting through our website http://antiviolence.info Our Rural-Regional Connect project identifying champions or local advocates in rural/regional towns and linking them into a local AVP response for people living in the same or nearby towns. Email vicavp@antiviolence.info to get involved!, Education and public and social policy development with governments and their departments, and Community Encounters training at the Victoria Police Academy for all police and protective service officers undergoing recruit training.
