I'm from Chirnside Park and wanted to thank you for the shows on Joy about safety this month. Sometimes we get Joy on the radio but when we don't its good to have the internet as a back up. I'm not gay but we have a group of mates among us that are gay and we all look after each other. We've been into the gay pubs together and it always amazes me about the anti gay language guys from the suburbs use when they are in the inner suburbs. They wouldn't use the anti gay words where they come from but do when they are trying to stack up against their mates... something has to be done to change this.

I'm a regular with Gen Next and want to share that this weeks show was amazing. So many things talked about fitted with my personal experience when younger and coming out. I rang a friend who is going through an aweful time working out how to come out and he was wrapped with the guidance everyone had for listeners. Congrats on doing this Community Safety series!

Just wanted to say thanks to the Anti-Violence Project for a wonderful partnership that began last Thursday on 1 October for the start of Community Safety Month. The live broadcast of JOY 94.9 from the Victoria Police Centre was fantastic. people can hear the interview with Chief Commissioner Simon Overland on the JOY website, joy.org.au, where the AVP and Paul Anthony from JOY along with Police GLLOs interview Mr. Overland.
